Me llega una fotografía digital de un féretro que unos hombres cargan a través de los torniquetes de una estación de la línea azul de la Ciudad de México. “Taxqueña”, se lee arriba del ataúd.  “No les alcanzó para la carroza”, me dice otro mensaje. No incluyo la foto por respeto.

He pensado en “liquidación” como la palabra que puede recoger un nuevo intento por documentar el paso del tiempo. Así pasa: uno crece, envejece, colecciona deudas, responsabilidades y culpas, gana canas y kilos, y lo que se pierde es el poderío y el goce sobre el tiempo propio. Tiempo necesario para sentarse con los pies fríos y ponerse a pensar primero y luego, a veces al mismo tiempo, escribir algo.

The Great 78 Project is a community project for the preservation, research and discovery of 78rpm records. I think it is one of the most amazing digital humanities projects out there today. As a material culture researcher and music collector I have enjoyed the collections very much. I decided to make a quick mix with some of my favourite tunes.
