On July 25 of this year, the webinar “Open Journal Systems (OJS) – a free and open software package for the publication of scientific research” was held, dedicated to the platform for hosting scientific journals, often used in open access.

The “DOAJ Indexing for OJS Journals” webinar took place on May 24th, 2023, presented by the Public Knowledge Project. The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) is extensive and diverse, indexing more than 19,000 open access journals in 133 countries and 80 languages.

“Inclusion in the DOAJ: a panel discussion” took place on June 28th, 2023, presented by Érudit and the Public Knowledge Project, together as Coalition Publica. More and more journal editorial boards, scholarly societies and university libraries are turning to open access publishing in an era of global knowledge and public good.

PKP is hosting its 2023 AGM and invites the community to save the date. Yesterday, the Critical Public Health Network announced in a press release a mass resignation of the Taylor & Francis publication Critical Public Health ’s editorial board. The board cited “fundamentally different perspectives” on the process and purpose of scholarly publishing.
