On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, the Public Knowledge Project is pleased to announce the recent release of its community-driven, research-based Open Journal Systems (OJS), Open Monograph Press (OMP), and Open Preprint Systems (OPS). OJS, OMP, and OPS are free and open-source software (FOSS) for independent scholarly journal, press, and preprint publishing.

PKP partner TIB in Germany, is asking academic libraries to collectively fund seven open access journals from quantum physics, computer science, and mathematics in order to help these journals adhere to high publishing standards and to publish without author fees. PKP supports this approach and encourages those interested to answer the call for libraries to participate in the KOALA funding round by contacting TIB.

PKP and Érudit, together as Coalition Publica, presented an open webinar focusing on the challenges, benefits, publishing options, how-to steps, and best practices for basic multilingual metadata use in PKP software. This webinar was offered both in English and French and based on PKP’s documentation with the objective of supporting multilingual practices in international and Canadian journals.
