The Supreme Court of Canada has issued an important decision in the longstanding dispute between the collective society Access Copyright and York University over paying royalties on course readings. Although the high court did not squarely address the practical effects of the ruling, it affirmed that Access Copyright’s tariffs are not mandatory and that fair dealing can apply in such circumstances.

OJS supports various galley formats; these are the final publication-ready files that journals prepare for readers and publish on the article page. These formats include PDF, HTML, XML and ePub. OJS also supports multimedia formats like MP3 and videos. PDF is the most common galley format that journals publish. It is the easiest to convert and is preferred as it closely resembles a printed page.
