Where I attempt to extend some Tweets into a longer piece. I grew up in a house full of books. The more books we had access to the more books we knew we did not have. We were very privileged to have that kind of scarcity. My parents’ material wealth was their personal library, and their inheritance was a love for reading and a love for books (and other published, printed stuff). One book leads to other books;

A ndy Byers and I are going to Birmingham today to participate in the #dataspring Sandpit Workshop from Jisc. Research Data Spring is Jisc’s collaborative initiative for UK research: In case you are interested we have written about our idea here. The sandpit workshop runs for two days; Andy and I will be there today (Thursday) and Andy will stay for tomorrow too (I teach on Fridays). Looking forward to what comes up.
Our idea submitted to Jisc’s Research Data Spring was successful in passing to the next stage. Today I´ll participate in a workshop in London to present the idea.
