With apologies to Andrew Marvell. If you haven’t read “To His Coy Mistress”, I fear this won’t make much sense. Had we but funding enough and time, This coyness, founder, were no crime. In a previous post I demonstrated how to set up a local LLM that you can run through either a command line interface (Ollama) or a graphical user interface (Open WebUI and others), and quickly demonstrated how to “chat with your documents” with a local model using LMStudio. Akass read this very much through a prism of Trump, and I here want to continue this focus in order to add further consideration to the question of why a convicted felon was elected president by the American people.

The Invisible Hands It wasn’t the speed that surprised me—it was how natural it felt. For years, regulatory submissions had been a slow and painstaking process. Teams of specialists labored over every sentence, every data table, every response to agency questions.

A few months ago, Dorothy Bishop resigned her fellowship in the Royal Society in protest at Elon Musk’s continuing fellowship. This was a highly principled stand. Two months ago, Stephen Curry wrote an open letter to the President of the Royal Society asking him to explain how Musk’s activities and pronouncements can be considered compatible with the Society’s code of conduct.
