PKP held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the 2023 fiscal year on May 29th, 2024. The AGM recording is now available. On May 29th, 2024, the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), including updates on the Fiscal Year 2023 and staff presentations.

PKP announces its next 2024 Sprint happening on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024, and Wednesday, October 9th, 2024. The Public Knowledge Project is thrilled to announce our next PKP Sprint of 2024. Organized in partnership with the CRAFT-OA project, this in-person event will take place on October 8th and 9th , at Circolo dei Lettori in Turin, Italy.

PKP is pleased to announce its support of the Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information, which promotes open, collaborative research, and equitable knowledge sharing. In April 2024, experts in research information came together to create the Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information aiming to support the accessibility of open research information, metadata related to research, and its outputs.

PKP is pleased to announce that it is a supporter of the Principles for Open Scholarly Infrastructure (POSI). Since its founding in 1998, the Public Knowledge Project has been committed to open principles, most particularly around releasing our software under an open source license.

PKP is pleased to release its Annual Report for fiscal year 2023, including updates on software development and usage, advisory committee, community governance, committees and interest groups, research, publishing services, Coalition Publica partnership, financial and operations, contributors, and more. It’s been another exciting and productive year, with lots to celebrate during PKP’s 25th Anniversary!

The Publication Facts Label (PFL) will be used to bring together information about article and journal scholarly publishing standards through verification, and to communicate that verification to the public.
