As part of our ongoing efforts to improve PKP’s technical infrastructure (such as moving to Git for version control and issue tracking), and in anticipation of the upcoming OJS 3.x line, we are pleased to announce our new support forum: http://forum.pkp.sfu.ca The new forum runs on the open source Discourse platform, used by a wide range of sites including Boing Boing and How-To Geek.

As part of our efforts to sustain the continued development and enhancement of our free, open source software applications, including Open Journal Systems, Open Monograph Press, Open Conference Systems, and Open Harvesting Systems, the Public Knowledge Project operates a commercial service known as PKP Publishing Services (or PKP|PS). This is an optional service, providing extra assistance or hosting for an organization’s publishing activities.

You will find the release notes here, but some of the more exciting new features are: OJS now supports automatic CrossRef deposits. With this new version of OJS comes an updated “2.0” release of the CrossRef plugin, adding new functionality and features; such as automatic deposits. This plugin will see continued refinement and improvement as its use increases.
